The West Fargo Public Library staff and Board of Directors are elated to welcome Jenna Kahly as library director, effective Aug. 28, 2023. As director of the city’s sole library, Kahly oversees library operations and provides strategic leadership for the development of library programs and services. The Library Board of Directors appointed Kahly in July in coordination with Assistant City Administrator Dustin Scott and City of West Fargo Human Resources.
Kahly is a metro native with over 15 years of library experience, having worked for the Lake Agassiz Regional Library in various roles since 2008. She also served as a Clay County Commissioner in recent years and brings a broad range of experience in library operations, community engagement, and governmental affairs.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jenna to the West Fargo Public Library,” said Library Board President Liann Hanson. “We believe her wealth of experience will play a crucial role in the future success of the library.”
Kahly’s family currently resides in Moorhead, MN, but she is no stranger to the unique needs and exponential growth of West Fargo. Kahly grew up in West Fargo, graduated from West Fargo High School, and even worked part-time for the West Fargo Public Library in college.
“Service to the community is one of my core values,” Kahly said. “I have been blessed to serve our metro through my past work and am eager to contribute to the success of the library and greater West Fargo community in this new role.”
