[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Public Library collecting hygiene products for local shelters

Hygiene product drive

The West Fargo Public Library is collecting hygiene products for those in need. The hygiene product drive, which runs now through July 31, seeks to provide much-needed support to shelters such as the YWCA Emergency Shelter, Gladys Ray Shelter, Churches United, and Dorothy Day House.

Members of the public can participate by donating new personal and family hygiene products at the service desk of the West Fargo Public Library (215 3rd Street E, West Fargo) during regular operating hours. The collected items will be distributed to the shelters to benefit individuals and families in need.

Please consider donating items such as: 

  • Denture Cream
  • Lotion (including sensitive skin) 
  • Shaving Cream 
  • Children’s Hair Detangler 
  • Hairspray 
  • Hair Gel 
  • Hair Mousse 
  • Styling Products for Natural Hair (i.e. Edge Control) 
  • Toothpaste and mouthwash 
  • Face wash 
  • Body Wash 
  • Deodorant 
  • Tampons- Light & Super/Ultra 
  • New makeup (eyeliner, brow liner-brown, mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick, and foundation for dark complexions) 
  • Pull-ups (All sizes, but specifically sizes larger than 2t) 
  • Diapers (All sizes, but specifically sizes 4 and 5) 
  • Baby Wipes 
  • Similac Advance Formula

“Here at the library, we are dedicated to serving the community and supporting people in all walks of life,” Interim Library Director Kirsten Henagin said.

This item drive is part of the West Fargo Public Library’s lineup of summer events all embodying the summer reading theme “All Together Now” which celebrates community, friendship, togetherness, and lending a helping hand.
