Contractors will begin performing asphalt patching maintenance of the south parking lot at the Lodoen Community Center, which houses the West Fargo Library, this week.
During construction, motorists are asked to please follow any posted signs and traffic cones and to be cautious around workers. Visitors may experience congestion within the parking lot. At times, the south Lodoen Center parking lot may be full or closed. Library visitors are encouraged to park in the north parking lot off of First Avenue E. and enter the building through Door 23, if access to Door 1 is restricted. Please note: First Avenue E. is closed to through traffic at this time due to unrelated construction, however, motorists can still use First Avenue E. to access the Lodoen Center’s north parking lot.
The Lodoen Community Center and adjacent buildings are home to the West Fargo Public Library as well as the Early Childhood Center, YMCA daycares, Headstart, Community High, Transition Academy and other entities. When visiting the library, please be courteous of others using the parking lots and keep an eye out for families and children, especially during times of parking lot congestion. The City of West Fargo recommends using the 'S' check when traveling in and around construction areas - check your speed, space and stress.
Due to an unrelated sidewalk improvement project, the West Fargo Public Library's outdoor book drop remains closed until further notice and handicap access to the Lodoen Center is still available through Door 23 only. The West Fargo Public Library will provide updates regarding the sidewalk improvement project and return of the outdoor bookdrop via westfargolibrary.org and social media when information becomes available.
