[ARCHIVED] City of West Fargo pruning project to begin April 4

FB POST (12)

Weather permitting, the City of West Fargo will begin a boulevard tree pruning project Monday, April 4. Pruning will follow the maintenance zone schedule when able so work will be done in each neighborhood the day before garbage collection. Residents should keep the street and boulevard clear of debris and vehicles to allow work to be done safely and efficiently.

Following this work, residents must maintain boulevard trees with a 14-foot clearance on the street side and over the curb. Property owners adjacent to the boulevard are required by City ordinance to maintain this clearance.

This project is being done by the City’s Forestry division, in partnership with a private contractor, in its efforts to maintain the City’s urban forest. This pruning effort will keep municipal services equipment such as garbage trucks and snow plows from hitting branches of boulevard trees.
