When you think of the northern stretch of Sheyenne Street from Main Avenue W. to Seventh Avenue W. and the surrounding neighborhood, what comes to mind? Downtown, Old Town, Cruise Night, West Fest, new buildings, community? As this portion of West Fargo continues to redevelop, the City of West Fargo, Downtown Business Association and Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau are working to develop an authentic brand identity for the area to help enhance the community, economic and tourism development of the area.
To accomplish this, the partner organizations invite the community to complete a brief, anonymous survey at https://www.westfargond.gov/936/North-Sheyenne-Street-Branding-Project through Friday, Oct. 11. The survey will provide the project team with initial insights on how the neighborhood, city, metro and region view this area and what emotions it evokes. This feedback will provide jumping off points for brand development and further research and is part of a multistep approach to the development of this brand.
The project team began gathering feedback for this area during the final Cruise Night of the season and West Fest. A large poster board was placed near Pioneer Place during the events and the public was asked to list their favorite things about the area. The team will also review the market and demographic analysis conducted during the development of West Fargo 2.0, the City of West Fargo’s comprehensive plan, to enhance the market research. Additional opportunities to provide input and review branding ideas will be made available in November.
