The West Fargo Public Library's summer reading program has been transformed into Summer Boost! We have expanded our popular program to include more fun for all ages and to incorporate the Little Red Reading Bus. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
Reading during the summer has been proven to benefit children as they return to school in the fall. Even a small amount of reading, just fifteen minutes a day, can be a great help to stop the "summer slide" — learning loss that occurs when children are out of school in the summer. The Summer Reading Program at the West Fargo Public Library works to encourage children to continue reading and learning all summer long, so they enter the new school year ready to learn.
The Summer Reading Program runs from June 1 to July 31 with events and reading incentives for all ages. The theme of the 2020 Summer Reading Program was Imagine Your Story, celebrating fairy tales, mythology and the fantasy genre. A website called Beanstack is where you can go to track your hours, win prizes and learn about all of the great activities and events we are planning for this summer!
